Chemical Resistant Waterstop - TPER

BoMetals, inc. Thermoplastic Elastomeric Rubber (TPER) Waterstops play a critical part in providing a fluid tight diaphragm in primary, secondary and tertiary above and below ground containment facilities. This is accomplished by offering a product for concrete joints that greatly expands its resistance to hot petro-chemicals, solvents, aqueous acids, gasoline, jet fuel and other chemicals listed as hazardous by the EPA.

BoMetals, inc. manufactures our TPER Waterstop from a specially formulated fully cross-linked Thermoplastic Vulcanizate Rubber. This product will assure an owner of a facility that requires containment, for environmentally sensitive materials, a reliable and easy to install product. BoMetals' TPER Waterstop is available in a wide variety of profiles up to 12 inches wide.

TPER Flat Rib Waterstop should be installed with the center of the Waterstop in the center of the construction joint and tied to rebar with hog rings. Dumbell TPER Waterstop may be used in non-moving joints and installed as in the fore mentioned application. Waterstop failures generally occur where the Waterstop must make changes in direction.

In order to fabricate these changes in direction, skill and the proper tools are required to make the fittings. If the welds are improper, charred, burned or incomplete, then the welds will have a high probability of failure and, therefore, leak. Because waterstop acts to complete a fluid tight diaphragm by bridging expansion and construction joints, the only way to create this fluid tight diaphragm is by using factory-manufactured fittings for the changes in direction. Therefore, the only welds needed are the simple butt welds that require minimum of skill and tools.
